WHAT'S IN THE BOX

120cm is the whole decision.

120cm is the length that lets a dog walk beside you with slack in the line and still stops short of the kerb. Shorter and you're holding tension the whole walk. Longer and you're gathering it in every time a bike passes.

The handle is padded velvet over the same structured nylon that runs the length of the lead — so the part that takes your weight and the part that takes the dog's are the same piece of material, not two things stitched together and hoping.

GETTING THE SIZE RIGHT

Measured, not guessed.

Your hand The collar
120cm × 2.0cm

Long enough for slack on the pavement, short of the kerb.

1

Clip low

Attach to the collar's D-ring, not to a tag ring. Tag rings aren't load-bearing.

2

Hold, don't wrap

Loop the handle over your thumb and close your hand. Never wrap the lead round your wrist.

3

Let it hang

A lead with a gentle U of slack in it is a lead that's the right length.

4

Check the gate

Give the bolt snap a pull each time you clip on. Two seconds, every walk.

Not sure?

Which collar size are you on?

Take the same size in the lead. The webbing width and bolt snap scale together, so the hardware matches the load.
Buy the Collar and Lead Set instead — matched sizing, matched finish, and £5.99 less than the two apart.
Any size clips to the harness ring. Pick by your dog's weight so the bolt snap suits the pull.

IS IT FOR YOU?

Straight answer, both ways .

We'd rather you skipped this one than returned it.

Yes, if…

  • You walk on pavement and want slack in the line without drag
  • Your palm has met a bare webbing lead before
  • You already have the Form Collar and want the hardware to match

Probably not, if…

  • You need distance for recall work — that is a long line, a different tool
  • You want a retractable; this is a fixed 120cm
WHY SETS EXIST

The clip goes first. It always does.

Every lead has one part that takes the whole dog: the clip. On most leads it's a hollow bolt snap with a light spring, and after a few hundred lunges the spring softens, the gate stops seating fully, and one day it doesn't close at all. You usually find out at the worst possible moment.

The handle is the second failure. Bare webbing at 120cm is fine until your dog spots a squirrel, and then it's a rope burn across your palm.

THE LONG RUN

What five years actually looks like .

Every piece is built to last five years of daily use. Here's what that actually means.

Week 1

It arrives and it fits

If the size is wrong, send it back inside 30 days. Unused and in its packaging, no questions asked.

Month 6

The point most kit gives up

Six weeks to six months is where cheap hardware greys, stitching frays and fill goes flat. If any of that happens here, it's a defect and it's covered.

Year 2

It looks used, not worn out

Both pieces age at the same rate, which is the point of buying them together.

Year 5

Still covered

The guarantee runs the full five years against manufacturing defects. Email a photo and your order number and a replacement ships free.

ASK AWAY

Questions we actually get.

Why does a lead come in four sizes?

+
The webbing width and the bolt snap scale with the size, so the hardware matches the load. An XL clip on a small dog is heavy and awkward; an S clip on a large dog is the part that fails.

Does the size need to match my collar size?

+
Yes — take the same size in both and the hardware lines up visually and structurally.

Is 120cm long enough for training?

+
For pavement and park walking, yes. For recall training at distance you'd want a long line, which is a different tool.

Will the padded handle stay padded?

+
The padding is bonded to the nylon core rather than sitting loose inside a sleeve, so it doesn't migrate down the handle over time.

Can I use this with the Form Harness?

+
Yes. The bolt snap fits the harness's attachment ring.

Is it machine washable?

+
No — machine washing flattens the velvet and stresses the hardware. Wipe down and dry flat.

How much is delivery?

+
Free on every UK order, with no minimum spend.

How quickly does it ship?

+
Dispatched within 1-2 working days of your order.

What if the size is wrong?

+
Send it back within 30 days, unused and in its original packaging, and we refund you.

Who pays return postage?

+
You do for a change of mind. We do if the item arrived faulty.

How do I claim on the guarantee?

+
Email a photo and your order number. We confirm within two working days and ship a free replacement.
IN PLAIN ENGLISH

Three words that actually mean something .

Every brand writes these on a label. Here is what they do.

Bolt snap

The spring-loaded clip. The gate is the part that softens first on a cheap lead, and the part that lets go.

Padded handle

Foam bonded to the core rather than sitting loose in a sleeve, so it cannot migrate down the strap over time.

120 cm

Long enough to leave slack on a pavement, short enough to stop before the kerb.

GET IT WRONG

The three things people do anyway .

Not a warranty clause. Just what the return emails keep saying.

1
Wrapping it round your wrist. Use the thumb loop and close your hand.
2
Buying a size that does not match the collar — the hardware is scaled per size.
3
Putting it away wet, with the bolt snap still full of rain.
LOOKING AFTER IT

What to do, and when.

After each use
Wipe both with a damp cloth and dry flat.
Every week or so
No machine washing.
Every few months
Check the wear points. Material that is softening is normal. Material that is fraying, splitting or lifting is not — that is a defect, and it is covered.
Any time in five years
If it fails under normal use, email a photo and your order number. We confirm within two working days and a replacement ships free.
