FELL started with a collar.
We'd been through four in two years. Nylon that frayed within months. Plastic that cracked in the cold. Hardware that rattled, discoloured and eventually snapped mid-walk on a January morning.
We weren't looking to start a brand. We were looking for a collar that lasted.
When we couldn't find one that was built properly and looked right without costing three figures, we decided to make our own. Sage green velvet over structured nylon. Brushed gold hardware throughout. A bolt snap clip that closes with a click you can hear. A lead long enough to let them run.
That was the beginning of FELL.
The name
A fell is open upland. The kind of landscape that exists in the Lake District, the Pennines, the Borders — exposed, honest, uncomplicated. It's where we walk. It's what we wanted the gear to feel like.
How we work
FELL is a small operation. We don't manufacture at scale, we don't sell through retailers and we don't make products we wouldn't use ourselves.
Every product goes through the same question: does it hold its shape after six months of daily use? If the velvet pills, if the hardware discolours, if the stitching pulls — it doesn't make the range.
The Form Trail Bowl came from the same place. We kept forgetting to bring water on longer walks. The bowl we had leaked. The replacement was too large to carry. We found something that worked, refined it, and added it.
